Love Letter wasn’t just something I woke up and decided to do. I’ve wanted to own a clothing shop for a very long time. 12 years ago I was living in Austin where I discovered my love of selling vintage clothing. I had a retro camper that I would sell my vintage finds out of. For fun, I would set up shop every weekend in my neighborhood.
But time went on and big life changes happened. Originally from Door County, I eventually moved back. I continued vintage clothing sales, both pop-ups and online, but never opened the brick-and-mortar I always envisioned. Instead I paved a path for myself that was more convenient, more stable, more lucrative. But I still always had that dream in the back of my head.
This past year I finally considered finding a space. I talked non-stop about it, but never did anything about it. It wasn’t until my husband, Chris, got tired of me being all talk and no action. He pushed and pushed and pushed me to purchase a shop. I fought back, scared, claiming I was comfortable with our life, happy with the trajectory, the comfort, the simplicity. I stomped my feet and tried to talk myself out of doing this every time he told me to go for it.
Long story short, I finally made the leap, bought a shop space, made a business plan, and opened Love Letter. I love the space we’ve created and I love sharing it with you all! I am now doing what I was meant to do all along!
